2026-2027 – 50th Anniversary Celebration Season Schedule
We are thrilled to announce our special 2026-2027 season, celebrating 50 years of creating music as Omaha’s Community Band!
All of our formal season concerts are in the UNO Strauss Performing Arts Center. Each concert features a special commissioned work for band with a reception following the performance in the main lobby.
Sunday, October 18, 2026 – 7:30PM – UNO Strauss Performing Arts Center
– performance of composition by former NWS director and local composer Larry MacTaggart
Sunday, December 6 – 3:00PM – UNO Strauss Performing Arts Center
– Premier of flute concerto by Erika Svanoe with guest flutist Christie Beard
– This is a joint concert with the UNO University Band
Saturday, February 27, 2027 – UNO Strauss Performing Arts Center
– featuring our first NWS Middle School All Star Honor Band
– Premiering a new composition for Middle School Band by William Owens
Sunday, April 25, 2027 – 7:30PM – UNO Strauss Performing Arts Center
– Premier of new composition for advanced concert band by by local composer and former NWS Associate Director Keith Michael Davis
Sunday, May 2, 2027 – 3:00 pm – Lord of Love Lutheran Church, 10405 Fort Street
– NWS Small Ensembles concert
– Experience the variety of talent within our playing membership
Summer Concerts
Sunday, June 6 2027 – St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church – time TBD
Saturday, July 3, 2027 – time and location TBD
There is no admission charged for any of this season’s NWS concerts.
