The Nebraska Wind Symphony has a number of special programs that provide encourage young people to continue to enjoy the benefits of instrumental music participation.
NWS Memorial Scholarship was established to honor former playing members who have died. An annual competition is held to award scholarship funds for students who continue instrumental music performance as part of their college/university studies. NWS Middle School All Stars are featured at one of our concerts each season. This program gives promising young instrumentalists nominated by their band directors a chance to play with others of the same instrument along with experienced adults. An ACB Regional Event is hosted by NWS in April, 2023. This event provides an opportunity for adult instrumentalists in community band in the midwest area to gather, share ideas and some great concert band music.
