All-Star Program Student Info

The Nebraska Wind Symphony’s winter concert is February 16, 2020 at 3:00 pm at the Omaha Conservatory of Music.  This year we feature 7th and 8th grade saxophones on “Harlem Nocturne” and “Yakety Sax” with the band. They will have the opportunity to work with Dr. Patrick Brown, saxophone instructor at UNO, and Josh Kearney, Visiting Music Director for the Nebraska Wind Symphony, in a sectional and with the band.

Student Participant Registration for Directors
Band Directors select the students to participate.  Each student must make the commitment to attend both the scheduled rehearsal and concert.
Directors – Please complete one registration per student.

Rehearsal with NWS – Monday, Feb 10, 2019 – 6:30-8:15PM
Omaha Conservatory of Music, 7023 Cass St, Omaha, NE
Students should bring their music, pencil, and a stand to the rehearsal and performance.  The nights activities to include:
– Sectional rehearsal with Dr. Patrick Brown
– Band rehearsal of selections with Josh Kearney
– Cookie reception

Concert with NWS – Sunday, Feb 16, 2019
Omaha Conservatory of Music, 7023 Cass St, Omaha, NE
Concert dress – white shirts and black pants
1:45PM – warm-up rehearsal in the performance hall
3:00PM – concert

This should be a fun and rewarding experience for area 7th and 8th grade saxophone students. We hope that their band directors will not only involve these players in this special performance, but will attend as well.

Band directors receive complimentary tickets.

Parents of participants can purchase tickets for $5 each.
Note: Students under 12 are free.
