Nebraska Wind Symphony hosts ACB Regional Connection – April 26-27, 2024
University of Nebraska at Omaha – Janet A. & Willis S. Strauss Performing Arts Center
The Association of Concert Bands was formed to support adult concert, community, and municipal bands. It’s mission is to foster excellence in Concert Band music through performance, education, and advocacy.
ACB Regional Connections Events bring member bands and musicians from a region together for a day of collaboration, education, performance and discussion. Each event will include participatory music reading sessions, roundtables and other education discussions, networking opportunities, and a few ACB Member Band performances.
The ACB Omaha Regional Event takes place at the Janet A. & Willis S. Strauss Performing Arts Center on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, 6305 University Dr N.
Afternoon and evening concerts during this event are open to the public at no cost.

9:00AM-10:30AM – reading band session – Concert Hall (conference attendees only)
10:45AM-11:30AM – breakout Grant Writing Workshop – Recital Hall – Nebraska Arts Council – Rachel Morgan, presenter
11:30AM-12:30PM – sack lunches in UNO Ballroom [adjacent to the Performing Arts Center] (conference attendees only)
12:45PM-1:30PM – concert by Omaha Symphonic Winds – Rex Barker, Director – Concert Hall – open to general public
1:45PM-2:45PM – breakout Early Band Instruments – Recital Hall – National Music Museum, Vermillion,SD – Ana Silva and Dwight Vaught (conference attendees only)
3:00PM-3:45PM – concert by Central Iowa Wind Ensemble – Christian Carichner, Director – Concert Hall – open to general public
4:00PM-5:00PM – breakout Roundtable Forum – Recital Hall – Community Band Administration topics – ACB representatives and participating band panelists (conference attendees only)
5:00PM-7:15PM – supper break – on own – Offsite
7:30PM-8:45PM – Closing Concert by Nebraska Wind Symphony – Dr. Joshua Kearney, Director- Concert Hall – open to general public
8:45PM-10:00PM – ACB Conference Closing Reception
