Darwyn “Tony” Snyder organized a group of 70 adult musicians in September 1977 creating the Nebraska Wind Symphony, Omaha’s Community Concert Band. Tony and others had long recognized the need for a performance outlet for adults who participated in high school and college band programs and wanted an organized group to continue playing. We celebrate the vision of these individuals that resulted in establishing the Nebraska Wind Symphony!
The Nebraska Wind Symphony is an adult community band of 70+ adults from a wide variety of vocational backgrounds. Each concert season, the NWS performs six concerts in various venues including two outdoor summer concerts. All of our concerts are free to the public.
