All-Star Program Student Info

The Nebraska Wind Symphony’s winter concert is February 11, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Omaha Conservatory of Music.  We will feature up to 18 7th and 8th grade flutists on “Flight of the Flutes” and “Vivaldi’s Spring” with the band.
The participants will have the opportunity to work with Dr. Christine Beard, flute instructor at UNO, and Larry MacTaggart, Music Director for the Nebraska Wind Symphony.  Students selected to participate must make the commitment to attend both the scheduled rehearsal and concert.

Flight of the Flutes
Vivaldi’s Spring – There are 2 separate parts.  Students will be assigned a part.

Rehearsal with NWS – Monday, Feb 5, 2018 – 6:30-7:45PM
Omaha Conservatory of Music
Students should bring their music, pencil, and a stand to the rehearsal and performance.
Sectional rehearsal with Dr. Christine Beard – 6:30-7:15PM in the recital hall
Band rehearsal with Larry MacTaggart – 7:15-7:45PM in the performance hall
A cookie reception follows the rehearsal until about 8:15 pm.

Concert with NWS – Sunday, Feb 11, 2018

This should be a fun and rewarding experience for area 7th and 8th grade flute students. We hope that their band directors will not only involve these players in this special performance, but will attend as well.
