The mission of the Nebraska Wind Symphony (NWS) is to perform fine concert band music for the enjoyment and enrichment of musicians and audiences in the greater Omaha area.
The Nebraska Wind Symphony is an adult community band of approximately 85 adults from a wide variety of vocational backgrounds. Each year, the NWS performs three formal concerts. The band also performs other concerts in a variety of venues, including two free summer outdoor concerts.
We strive to provide high quality band concert performances of a variety of music programming that appeals to music enthusiasts and many segments of the community. The NWS continues to be a frequent recipient of function support from the Nebraska Arts Council (NAC) and an active advocate of the arts.
NWS is an organization member of the Association of Concert Bands (ACB). The ACB exists to encourage and foster adult concert community, municipal, and civic bands and to promote the performance of the highest quality traditional and contemporary literature for band.
The NWS is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
